Name: Idō Kabe

Description: Idō is a very large muscular man. Completely bald, you could vaguely see your face in his head. He does however, have a small goatee that seems to stop growing at a short length. His muscles are bursting from his skin. The muscles are clearly noticeable, the huge bulges are even seen through his clothes. He is 7'1'', very tall compared to many other things. He is a hulking giant. Due to his huge muscles, Idō is also considerably heavy. However, Idō barely has any fat on his body, all muscle, skin, and bones.

Zanpakutō - Gādoītā

'Han'ei Gādoītā': Reflect, Guard Eater! Is shouted before Gādoītā transforms from a normal katana into a tower shield and lance. The katana shines in a big red light, covering the entire area in front of Idō. As the red light starts to recede, a pointed oval shaped shield is formed and a large lance. The shield and lance are connected by a chain that appears to be the same material as the shield and lance.

The shield is made of a white, bone like material. However, the shield is made of a reiatsu enhanced metal, made to look like a tribal shield. In the center of the shield is a big blue jewel that is very thick, as strong as diamonds. Once any attack makes contact with the shield, energy is absorbed into the large jewel in the center. If the attack is physical, such as from a stab or slash from a blade, or a smack from a mace or fist, energy is exploded from the impact and absorbed into the shield's jewel.

Once the energy is absorbed, the energy moves from the jewel, through the chain which is also adorned with the same type of jewels with each link. The energy goes through the chain and reaches the lance. The lance starts to glow with the energy that was sent into the jewel on the shield. Once the lance is thrust out, the energy explodes out of the contact point, causing physical pain. However, this effect only occurs on contact and cannot be shot out voluntarily. If the foe knows of the shikai's effect and doesn't attack, or they don't hit the shield, Idō does have the choice to infuse his own reiatsu into the lance.

Sprouting from the chain, is a branch in the chain that connects to the wrists of each hand. These sprouts in chain are connected to his wrists so he can infuse his lance with energy. But also, this shikai may also be used for defense. The shield can be infused with the energy to create a larger defense. However, if the shield is being infused with energy, it can no longer take any more energy hence, cannot power up the attack. Also, if the shield is being powered, the link between the chains break until one post after the power in the shield disperses. Each burst of energy can only be held at the longest 2 posts.

Personality Traits: Idō is a fairly simple person. However, he is a very good strategist. A lot of his fighting is a mix between reflex and strategy. Towards other people, Idō is open for new relationships. However, most of his relationships are simple like himself. He doesn't usually grow long lasting relationships with people since he doesn't really end up loving anyone.

When people try to interact with Idō, it's usually a slow start. Most of the time, when people even want to be friends with them it's not even because of his personality, more of his assets. By assets I mean physical abilities, not appearance.

Idō is quick to get into a fight. Normally, his first reaction to an insult is to fight someone. Even though he is quick to fight, he is not an angry person. But at the same time, Idō is not a nice person. Idō is talkative, but also when he talks they are usually just things he thinks humorous. He doesn't talk about himself ever. He tends to keep his history to himself leading to people confused about his past.

History:

Childhood

Idō was born into a rich family, with a business man father, and a trophy wife for a mother. He had one brother that was born 3 years after he was. His parents owned a very large mansion with a multitude of slaves. His parents were what were called 'racist' in modern times, this wasn't modern times however. Black people were slaves, and the civil war was going on. His family was very lazy, but they did put Idō through school.

Idō didn't like his parents having black slaves, so he tried to act poor. As long as people thought he didn't have any slaves, he was fine with being made fun of for being poor. His grades were in the top of the class. The other kids were even more relentless, calling him a constant names, and a know it all trying to make him feel even worse. Idō received many beatings from his fellow classmates.

Idō came home from school everyday with bigger and bigger bruises, man kids were mean. His parents had no idea he was pretending to be poor with no slaves. They tended to his bruises everyday, while his brother came home very day perfectly fine, sometimes with presents. Idō's parents paid absolutely no attention to him. Eventually Idō's parents started to pay for fighting lessons and training.

After years and years of abuse from classmates, he learned to fight. One day he came to school, high school it was now. He was 17 years old, and kids were still beating on him. The kids started to attack him, and he easily took them apart with his own two fists. The kids were all on the ground when he was sent to the principals office. His parents came in and explained to the principal and paid them off. The principal started to talk about how he said that they were poor and didn't have slaves. His parents were very angry...

The Mishap

After even more years, the Civil War ended. His parents no longer had slaves, but also Idō was all grown up. He moved away from his parents now. But one day, his brother came o' knocking on his door. He opened the door to see his brother in a white rage, he was on his own with no help from his parents. After the principal told his parents his story, they were angry, but still loved Idō much, much more. Idō's brother took out a rifle, and to his brother's surprise, Idō took out the sword his parent imported for him from out of the country in case he ever needed it for some odd reason. He held the sword with two hands since he was not yet ready for one handed combat.

Idō's brother shot at him, but missed. Followed by this he went in to stab with the bayonet. Idō dodged this and slashed at his hands. Cutting a deep gash into his hand with one slash he let go of the rifle with that hand. Fighting the pain, Idō's brother ran from him and held the rifle once more, no matter the pain. He shot once more, shooting Idō in the shin. Idō fell to his knee, but jumped up with his other leg, sending a quick slash to his legs. Cutting straight through the leg, Idō's brother fell. Now Idō's brother was at his mercy. Idō was through with being bullied, even by his own brother. With a rush of adrenaline, once his brother dropped his rifle, his brother soon found a katana through his brain. Idō laid down in sadness as well as pain.

Death

Idō's parents were very angry with him, they stopped paying for his house, his food, and everything else. Later, he was older and much, much more muscular, and bald. Idō lost his hair from the stress of his parents hate and his brother's murder. After the adrenaline of the kill however, Idō was pretty much addicted to working out. His muscles were bulging massively. He had a very low paying job, and his parent were old and sick. Idō came to fact that they would die soon, maybe they would leave him something in their will.

Once his parents both died, what was left of their family, Idō, his aunt, uncles gathered with a lawyer for the reading of his will. Idō got absolutely nothing, from there on he was very depressed. His parents really did hate him. After a couple days that could have been used for coping, he came to the conclusion of killing himself. So, he went into his tiny house, and laid himself down onto his blade. The exact one that killed his brother.

Afterlife

Once he committed suicide, Idō expected to be in hell. Christians weren't to commit suicide, he really didn't believe in a god... or an afterlife, but it was what he was raised to believe. He was however outside his body. He wondered the Earth for years and years, watching people, watching society, looking up people's skirts. Until one day, he saw a strange person in robes slowly walking up to him.

The person in robes was clearly looking at him, no one else. In fact Idō was roaming in nature, there was no one around. He walked faster and faster, and Idō started to jog away. He started to run after, and Idō began running as well. However, a big dark monster appeared in front of Idō. This monster had a large hole where it's heart should be, and a mask that seemed to be it should be in a play. The man in black and white robes jumped into the air, and destroyed the beast. The robed man continued after destroying to explain what was happening. Idō seemed to be something called a 'plus,' the robed man was a 'shinigami' and that beast was a hollow.

This shinigami saved him from that monster. He needed to send him to something called the Rukongai. And so he did. The shinigami stabbed him in the chest, and the world turned white. Maybe he actually died and that robed man was just crazy? However he woke up on the ground and looked around, many small houses, people walking around, people were looking at him. A group of Japanese people walked by him and helped him up. Idō had absolutely no idea who he was and why he was confused. However all he forgot was his history, all of the rudimentary facts, abilities, and techniques he learned, he still remembered. But not his name, his brother, or his family. The Japanese family took him into their family, and named him Idō Kabe, meaning Moving Wall since he was so large and muscular. They explained what this place was.

Academy Days

After living in the Japanese folks home for a long, long time. He heard all of the good things for shinigami, and the up coming war. So, he decided to join the shinigami academy. He gave his new mother a hug and kiss goodbye, his father a hug, and his much younger brother a hug as well. Leaving for the Seireitei.

The Academy... it was school all over again, luckily he didn't remember school, but he felt he remembered the feeling. He learned in the Academy to increase his swordsmanship and fighting in general. Once again, he excelled in his class just like in his time on the world of the living. Mostly because of his previous swordplay experiences. However he never cared for Kidō, didn't even bother to try, and his instructors noticed. They made him try extra hard in his other classes, which he did. They completely dropped the Kidō classes, and he dropped a bit below the top of the class, but was still up there. However, the rest of the class didn't know he was being challenged expectantly. Soon enough, he was out of the academy and into the Gotei 13.

War!!

He didn't exactly remember which squad he was in however because of events yet to come. During his time in the Gotei 13, he went to the world of the living and freed pluses, just as his shinigami did to him when he was a plus. But in about 100 years, a great attack broke out. A great attack took the soul society by complete surprise, attacks sprouted during a great, long battle between demons and shinigami. When he was protecting the Rukongai, he saw his little Japanese family die, he was infuriated and ran in the battle head first. The demons were way above his level, he passed dying high class officers, dying lieutenants, and even dying captains. He even saw his own captain die. This just infuriated him even more. He jumped over dead bodies, climbing a pile of said bodies, he jumped at it and slashed. The demon however smacked him across half of Rukongai, knocking him unconscious.

The healing division found him after the battle, it took a lot of the strength from a few of the officers to heal him back up. He forgot his efforts in the Gotei 13, and once recuperated... he was ready for a new division. No memory of his previous rank, or division, or captain... All he remembered was the bodies, the demon, and his little Japanese family.

Nice app. Looking forward to seeing you in action, but first we have to clean up your Shikai ability. (I'm going to hyper simplify it here. You don't have to include the description in your bio, just understand this is how it works.)

'Han'ei Gādoītā': '

Gādoītā's shikai causes the sheath to disappear, and in it's place are a small one-handed Lance-sword weapon, a conical weapon that comes to a sharp tip, with a working length of 42 inches (hilt excluded) and a gem-bossed shield. The lance has absolutely no cutting power, and makes bludgening strikes poorly at -1 strength vs Durability, however it is an exceptional piercing weapon, at +2 Strength vs Durability. The shield is primarily a defensive tool, but serves well enough, bludgeoning at -1 with the face, and at stats with the gem boss or the edges.

Ability:

Han'ei Gādoītā's true power isn't in the transformation, however, but in it's ability to absorb energy blasts through the gem in the center. Because of the size and focus of the gem, the absorption rates are as follows.

Beams and small orbs (up to about the shield's diameter or so) are absorbed at a cost equal to 1/2 the stamina put into the techniques/spells.

Larger blasts, such as most waves and some cone-shaped bursts (especially such bursts that are in the form of small blasts in a volley as opposed to pure energy cones) and large orbs cost stamina equal to the stamina in the technique to absorb.

Massive blasts, such as some waves (like the Super Kamehameha), true cone bursts of pure energy, and spherical bursts costs twice the stamina put into the technique to absorb.

This energy can then immediately be applied to the lance, increasing it's power for the next attempted strike by +1. (Techniques may better utilize this energy.)

If a second blast comes before the first is used, the shield phases harmlessly out of the way, subjecting the wielder to the full brunt of the blast and preserving the energy within. The wielder can instead release the energy to safely absorb the incoming attack (or try to block with his lance of course.)

Technique 1: Spiral Lance By channeling it's wielder's energy, Han'ei Gādoītā is capable of forming a drill around it's lance, energy spiraling fiercely and powerfully. Spiral Lance can either use the user's energy, or the stamina absorbed through the Shield. (Keep in mind it's the actual stamina absorbed, not the stamina paid to absorb it)

Basic Spiral Lance At the cost of 10 stamina per turn sustained, this technique adds +1 to the Lance's damage factor for both piercing and bashing, dealing strength vs Durability -1 on a narrowly missed thrust.

Basic Spiral Thrust At the cost of 20 stamina, Han'ei Gādoītā can deliver a Spiral Thrust at long range, dealing damage off of Strength and attacking with Assault at +1. (For 30 stamina, the cost of maintaining the Spiral Drill as well as the Spiral Thrust, this will keep it's additional +1 and narrow miss damage.)

Super Spiral Lance By instead paying 50 stamina per turn, the effect can be increased to +2 with the normal strength vs Durability damage on a narrowly missed thrust.

Super Spiral Thrust At the cost of 100 stamina, Han'ei Gādoītā can deliver a Super Spiral Thrust at long range, dealing damage off of Strength and attacking with Assault at +2. (For 150 stamina, the cost of maintaining the Super Spiral Drill as well as the Spiral Thrust, this will keep it's additional +2 and narrow miss damage.)

Approved for Squad 11, with a small note for change in your history. Have it having taken everything a 4th division officer could do to heal him, one man draining a healing division's resources doesn't make any sense lol.
